Join me for a lively, friendly walk through the most important points of Kraków’s historic centre — Wawel, the Royal Route and the Main Square with the Cloth Hall. The route is planned to avoid stairs wherever possible, making it comfortable for school classes, chaperones with buggies, or people with limited mobility.
This program is a great choice for school groups (primary and secondary schools) who have limited time but want to learn the city’s main symbols through stories full of curiosities and anecdotes. The walk’s pace is adjusted for students — short stops, questions, small tasks and interactive elements to keep everyone engaged.
Start: meeting point at an easily accessible spot near Wawel - we go over the plan and I give a short introduction.
Wawel (outside) - a story about the castle, royal ceremonies, legends and the Wawel Dragon. I will avoid entrances that require many steps or replace them with shorter, level approaches where possible.
Walk along the Royal Route toward the Main Square - stories about past coronations, merchants and the city’s most famous residents.
Main Square and the Cloth Hall - the history of Kraków’s central square, curiosities about the Cloth Hall and trading traditions, plus a group task (a short quiz or a search for an architectural detail).
Finish and questions - summary of the most important facts and tips on what else to see in Kraków during the following days.
In practice, “stairs-free” means choosing streets and boulevards with even surfaces or gentle slopes. Around Wawel and along the Royal Route I pick pedestrian routes that do not require climbing steep stairways. If entering interiors would require steps, I avoid them and recommend planning interior visits for a separate time if the group wishes to go inside.
When planning the route I consider the participants’ age, walking pace and rest breaks. For school classes I often suggest short 3–5 minute breaks with a small task or story — this helps keep attention without needing to stop on steps.
Duration: 2 hours — optimal for an introduction to the city and seeing the most important sights.

Important: for large classes (over 30–35 people) I recommend audio headsets so everyone can hear without clustering too close to the guide.
Meeting point: I choose an easy-to-find spot near Wawel — please remind students to wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle.
There are different pricing options depending on group size and tour length. For school groups the standard 2-hour rate is available in the offer and there may be seasonal promotions. Audio headset sets for larger groups are available for an additional fee.
If you want a lower price for a very large group, ask about per-person billing — for big classes this is often the most cost-effective solution.

Do we enter the Wawel Cathedral? - The standard walk presents Wawel from the outside. Interiors that require steps or tickets can be arranged separately depending on interest and availability.
What if there are many students? - For large groups I recommend audio headsets or an additional chaperone. I can help organise order and split the class into subgroups.
How long does it take to walk between points? - The route is condensed: walks between Wawel and the Main Square are short and comfortable on foot, typically a few to several minutes depending on the group’s pace.
Arrive 5–10 minutes early so you can gather and organise the group calmly — this saves time and stress.
Encourage questions! The most memorable tours happen when students and chaperones join the conversation.
