A few words about the guide

I’m Małgorzata Kasprowicz — a licensed Krakow guide since 2012. I have led thousands of guests: families with small children, school groups, seniors and international visitors. On tours I focus on lively storytelling, humor and interaction — so that even the youngest participants listen actively and ask questions.

I hold licenses that allow me to guide on Wawel Hill, the Market Square Underground, the Schindler’s Factory and other museums, which makes it comfortable to combine walks with entrance visits to the most important attractions.

For larger groups I offer the option to rent headset sets — this way everyone can hear the guide well even in crowded places.

My routes are flexible — if you’d like something thematic (legends, the history of Jewish Kazimierz, the contrasts of Nowa Huta, or a family-nature trip to Ojcow National Park), I’ll adapt the program to the age and interests of the participants.

Family offer — what I most often recommend

Legends trail — ideal for families with children: a route full of stories, riddles and engaging tales that capture the youngest and don’t bore adults.

Wawel and the Royal Route — a classic route covering Krakow’s most important monuments; it can be shortened or extended depending on the children’s stamina.

Kazimierz with children — relaxed pace, breaks in the squares and recommended spots for a snack; many anecdotes and short stories that help remember places.

Krakow + Wieliczka combination — a one-day proposal that families will enjoy. In the morning a walk through Krakow’s historic center, in the afternoon a visit to the Salt Mine. A great option if you want children to see something spectacular underground while still staying connected to the “city above ground”.

School trips and children’s groups — a special educational approach, activities and tasks. Teachers often praise the lightness of storytelling and the fact that students stay engaged throughout.

Trip to Wieliczka — practical and fun

What to know before going to the Salt Mine: Wieliczka is a beautiful place, but it’s different from walks around the market — it’s cooler and more humid underground, so bring a light jacket or sweater, even in summer.

It’s best to book mine tickets in advance, especially during the tourist season and at weekends. If you’re planning a family visit, check available times to fit them to the children’s daily rhythm.

The route in the mine includes stairs and longer walking sections — plan comfortable footwear and keep in mind that children may move more slowly. For families with little ones consider shorter visits or splitting the program (for example: a shorter walk in Krakow + a shortened visit to Wieliczka).

How to combine Wieliczka with Krakow in one day - sample plan: - morning: a short walk around the Main Market Square and Wawel (2–3 hours), - afternoon: travel to Wieliczka and visit the underground route (about 1.5–2 hours of sightseeing), - allow breaks for meals and rest.

For families with small children I recommend agreeing the sightseeing rhythm and breaks in advance; I’m happy to help adapt the pace and attractions so nobody gets bored and everyone returns satisfied.

How to book and what to expect on the day of the tour

Booking: it’s best to request a date in advance, especially in high season. For larger groups it’s worth agreeing details ahead (meeting point, pace, breaks, possible museum entries).

Before the tour I set the group’s pace and needs — tell me the children’s ages, whether you’ll have a stroller, any mobility limitations or if someone has special interests (e.g. photography, architecture, history).

Meeting place: usually the city center (Main Market Square, Wawel or another agreed point). On request I can adjust the meeting point so it’s convenient for your family.

On the day of the tour — bring comfortable shoes, water and a camera/phone for photos. For children it’s worth having a small snack and something to distract them while waiting to enter attractions.

FAQ — most frequently asked questions by families

Are the routes suitable for strollers? - Some routes in the historic center are accessible, but many places (e.g. certain streets, the underground or parts of Wawel) have stairs or narrow passages. I will always suggest the most convenient alternatives and places where you can park a stroller safely.

How long will children last on a walk? - It depends on age and temperament. For the youngest (3–6 years) I recommend shorter, interactive routes with frequent breaks and tasks. For older children (7+) you can comfortably plan 2–3 hours with curiosities and educational tasks.

Can you combine Krakow and Wieliczka in one day? - Yes. It’s a popular combination. A well-planned day with breaks and reserved tickets works great for families.

Are tours offered in Polish and English? - I guide in Polish and also offer tours in English. For larger groups there is the option to rent headset sets, which improves the comfort of hearing the guide.

What about tickets to museums and the mine? - Entrances to some sites (e.g. museums, the mine) require separate tickets. I will help plan the order where possible and advise where advance reservation is recommended.

In conclusion — why it’s worth choosing such a tour

Sightseeing with a guide is not just dry facts — it’s storytelling, context and questions that stick in your memory. For families the most important thing is that children leave the walk curious and smiling, and parents feel the day was well planned and stress-free.

If you want your tour to be tailored, colorful and without surprises — I’ll gladly prepare a plan and tell you about Krakow so everyone finds something they like. See you on a walk around Krakow and underground in Wieliczka!

If you have additional questions or want to set a date - send a message via the reservation page or order a voucher as a gift. I will happily help plan the ideal day for your family.
