I invite you to a walk along the Royal Route and Wawel that, in a natural, humorous and accessible way, will show the biggest attractions of old Kraków. The route is arranged so as not to bore children, while still offering adults interesting facts and historical 'treats'.
In practice this means: a relaxed pace, many colourful and concise stories, questions that involve participants, and breaks in places with benches, ice cream or coffee. For those who wish I can also adapt the stories to the children’s ages, the school curriculum or the group’s interests.
The route takes you through the key points of the Royal Route: St. Florian's Gate and the Barbican, Floriańska Street to the Main Market Square with the Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Basilica, then along Grodzka and Kanonicza Streets up to Wawel Hill - with an external and internal overview of the most important parts of the Castle and Cathedral.
On Wawel we tell the story of dynasties, coronations, royal tombs, the Zygmunt bell and what life at the royal court looked like. All of this is delivered without an excess of dates, but with anecdotes and vivid comparisons that help children remember the most important facts.
For families and school groups there is an extended option to include a trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Underground you will find St. Kinga’s Chapel, salt sculptures and subterranean lakes, and the route can be adapted with younger visitors in mind.
Wieliczka is a great way to vary the day: a change of scenery, an underground 'wow' effect and the chance to compare legends with reality. Visiting the mine requires entrance tickets and a short transport arrangement - I will gladly help with organisation.
The route has been prepared for a variety of groups: families with preschool and school-age children, school classes and mixed groups. The content can be shortened, expanded or enriched with outdoor games and tasks for children.
Teachers and parents appreciate the simple language, interactive elements that engage pupils and a pace suited to younger participants. For adults I add more historical and architectural context so everyone leaves with something new.
The standard 'Wawel and the Royal Route' tour lasts about 4 hours - an optimal time to walk the route calmly and enter the most important sites. There is also a shorter walking option without entries (approx. 2 hours), and a 3-hour variant.
Tours are conducted in Polish and English. I hold a state guide licence for Kraków since 2012 and have permissions to enter certain museums and sites, which facilitates access and organisation of visits.
The price for the guiding service depends on the length and size of the group. Small groups are charged an hourly rate, larger groups per person. A promotion is available from 1 October 2025 to 1 March 2026. Entrance tickets to sites such as Wawel Cathedral or St. Mary’s Basilica are charged separately - I can help buy tickets and inform you about current prices.
Headset audio-guide sets are available for groups (additional fee, typically 8 PLN/person), which improves comfort during busy times.
Booking is simple - after contact we agree on the date, meeting place and the exact route. Most often we start at the Main Market Square by the Adam Mickiewicz monument, but I adapt the starting point to your needs and accommodation.
The most convenient way to book is by phone or email. I am flexible with start times - an early morning tour helps avoid crowds, while an afternoon walk has its charm, especially at sunset over the Vistula.
Comfortable shoes, a bottle of water and clothing suitable for the weather are essential. For children it’s useful to have a snack and a small backpack with essentials - this helps keep the pace going.
If you plan to enter historic sites, have some small cash or a card ready for tickets and possible cloakroom fees. If you include Wieliczka we add time for travel and underground exploration.
Tours take place regardless of the weather. In case of bad conditions the route will be adapted to spend more time in covered sites and museums. For the youngest I have alternative short games and tasks to keep the day interesting.
If anyone in the group has limited mobility, please inform me when booking - I will choose a route and pace so everyone is comfortable, and suggest alternatives where stairs are unavoidable.
My name is Małgorzata Kasprowicz. I was born in Kraków and have guided several thousand visitors, including families, school groups and guests from abroad. I have held a Kraków guide licence since 2012.
My tours are based on storytelling with humour, anecdotes and elements that engage children. I try to present information simply and memorably - that makes the walk a pleasure rather than a school lesson.

Would you like to book a tour or ask for details? Contact me by phone or email - after booking we will agree on the meeting place and time and all group preferences.
Phone number and email for reservations can be found on the zwiedzaniekrakowa.com website - I will happily answer all questions and help with ticket purchases and organising the trip to Wieliczka.
Start in the morning if you want to avoid crowds in the Market Square and Cathedral. In the afternoon the atmosphere becomes more picturesque, but there are often more tourists.
If you come with children, plan short breaks for ice cream or a playground - a short play helps recharge before continuing.
Remember that Wawel and the main interiors have limited capacity - when planning school groups it is wise to reserve entries in advance.
