What to expect from a walk around Krakow?

Krakow is a city with history on every street, but sightseeing doesn't have to be boring or overloaded with dates. I like to tell short, memorable stories that help you understand a place and feel its atmosphere.

On a typical walk I'll show you the key points - Wawel and the Royal Route, the Main Market Square with St. Mary's Church, the Jewish district of Kazimierz - and add a few local touches that often don't make it into paper guidebooks.

If you want a personalized route - let me know. I adjust pace and focus for children, history lovers, photographers or people who prefer less walking and more museum interiors.

I lead tours in Polish and English; I've guided thousands of visitors and hold a state license as a Krakow guide.

Museum tickets are usually paid separately - I'll help buy them and plan the visit so you don't waste time in queues.

How to plan your first day in the city?

Suggested plan for the first day: morning on Wawel and in the area below the castle, then a walk along the Royal Route to the Main Market Square, and the afternoon in Kazimierz. This gives a good overview of the city's history and atmosphere.

If you're here for a short time - choose a 2–3 hour route focused on the main attractions. Have more time? Add a visit to the Rynek Underground, the Czartoryski Museum or a short trip to Nowa Huta.

It's also worth leaving time for a coffee break or lunch in a local café - Krakow is a great place to try regional flavors and soak up the city vibe.

If you travel with children, I suggest a route with anecdotes and short stops - kids engage when stories are simple and fun.

Main places - in brief

Wawel - the castle and cathedral, a symbol of Polish history; plan at least an hour to walk around the hill.

Main Market Square - the heart of the city: Cloth Hall, St. Mary's Church and many atmospheric side streets nearby.

Kazimierz - a district full of history, synagogues, cozy cafés and great photo spots.

For something different - Zakrzówek, the Polish Aviation Museum or the green corners of the botanical garden are a great way to diversify your plan.

Hidden gems and alternative routes

If you want something different - I'll show places off the main routes: small courtyards, hidden gardens, the colorful steps in Podgórze and local galleries.

We can also follow themed trails - the city's legends, sacred architecture, Jewish history or contrasts between the center and Nowa Huta.

Practical tips and booking

Meetings often start at the Main Market Square, but we set the exact spot individually - I'll match the start to your plans and logistics.

Tours run regardless of weather - I have a plan B for rain and access to audio headsets when the group is large.

In conclusion - an invitation

If you'd like to discover Krakow with someone who lives here with passion and tells lively stories about the city - you're welcome. My walks are lively, humorous and full of curiosities.
